What is Canterbury Shaker Village?
Canterbury Shaker Village, Inc., is an internationally-known non-profit museum and National Historic Landmark founded in 1969 to preserve the heritage of the Canterbury Shakers. It has 25 restored original Shaker buildings, four reconstructed Shaker buildings, and 694 acres of forests, fields, gardens, nature trails, and mill ponds under permanent conservation easement.

Canterbury Shaker Village is dedicated to preserving the 200-year legacy of the Canterbury Shakers and to providing a place for learning, reflection, and renewal of the human spirit. Visitors are encouraged to learn about the life, ideals, values, and history of the Canterbury Shakers through tours, programs, exhibits, research, and publications.

Set in a warm, comfortable atmosphere The Shaker Table boasts pastoral views of The Village and offers a culinary experience you won't soon forget. Our cuisine features Shaker-inspired cooking using fresh ingredients from area producers as well as many fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown on the Village grounds. Beautifully prepared and presented, each day's featured fare is a feast for the eyes as well as the palette.
